COURSE DESCRIPTION : By law, all food handlers must have an understanding of the basic principles of food hygiene. When someone gets sick from something they eat or drink, we call it a foodborne illness. Foodborne illness is caused by eating or drinking contaminated food or beverage.

According to the Nigeria centre for disease control (NCDC), food related illness affects tens of Millions of people and kills thousands each year.

This food Safety and Hygiene course is designed to provide food handlers in the catering sector with the essential practical training to enable them provide safe food to consumers.

COURSE CONTENT

1Food Hygiene

Understand the importance of food hygiene and reorganize the food hazards.

  • Microbiological,Physical,Chemical and Food allergies
2HACCPThe basics of HACCP Food Safety Management system
3Personal HygieneDemonstrate and maintain high standards of personal hygiene and hand hygiene
4Food DeliveryDelivery Hazard Analysis and Controls
5Food StorageStorage Hazard Analysis and Controls
6Food ProcessingPreparation, Cooking, Cooling, Reheating, Holding and Service Controls.
7ClearingUse of cleaning Chemicals and equipment
8Pest & Waste ControlMaintain work areas and follow good hygiene procedures.

MODE OF TRAINING :   The course is a mix of theoretical and practical sessions during which participants will be required to demonstrate their level of knowledge and understanding of the training programme content. 

COURSE DURATION : 1 Day

TRAINING METHODOLOGY: PowerPoint presentation, Practical demonstrations, Film Show, Training Handout.

COURSE FEE :  N95,000 Per Participant.
